We Are Not Alone

We Are Not Alone

Listening to a family share a story about their mom, I asked if I could pass it on.
The mom of the family, one that worked hard, had little in the way of positions, but held love beyond measure, found herself the owner of a flock of 50 baby chicks. The chicks still clothed in their yellow down (pre feathers), knock over the water feeder, causing all 50 of them to get wet. Mom knew the baby chick would die from wet down, but not on her watch. Out to the brooder house she came with her trusty hair dryer. Each chick she carefully took in hand, fluffing and cooing, she dryer each one. She only lost two. Ingenious. She laughed for years about the day she was the hairdresser to the chick; she thought the chicks might actually have enjoy it almost as much as she. Work – yes, but great joy too.

I think in part, that is what this scripture is about. We are not alone, even when we spill it all and end up wet and in trouble, God surrounds us with those who are there to comfort us and help us get dry – find life. Then, we are given the joy and opportunity to use our experience, knowledge and insight to help others. Ingenious.

Blessings,
