The Option To Live Into Love

The Option To Live Into Love

Carmel, my fur baby cat, spends most of his time laying in the yard napping. Actually, he’s stalking the chipmunks and rabbits, but I like to of him as sweet and altruistic, instead of a wily predator. This morning he brought me a baby bunny. I thanked him, and put the bunny back in the yard; about ten minutes later, he brought it back. The baby bunny is not in real good shape. I still love my cat, but do understand that he is a cat; a sweet altruistic cat, who is also a wily predator.

I think this is in part, what the scripture is about. God knows who we are. God knows our thinking, our flaws and the truth. He does not love us because of who we are, but because of who God is. Unlike my cat, we have the ability to grow and make better decisions; experiencing loving and being loved. Carmel is a cat stuck with being a fur baby; we are people with the option to live into love.

Blessings,
