Skills And Lessons That Last A Life Time

Skills And Lessons That Last A Life Time

Flag football for five-year old’s, yeah, it’s a thing. My grandson loves, loves it!! He gets to run, carry a ball and on occasion, crash into a buddy. What more could a 5-year-old want. They say he will learn sportsman ship, discipline, and how to be part of a team. Life long skills that should serve him well. The child next door, who is about four, is already on the golf course with his father. Another friend of mine cooks with her grandchildren, and they are all becoming pretty good chiefs. Giving a child the opportunity to explore and learn is an amazing gift to them. Walking along side them on that journey is an investment in joy.

I think that in part, this is what the scripture is about. Children learn not only skills for life, but habits, ways of perceiving the world around them, and a notion of who they can be from the people who teach them and care for them. Teaching a child about self-value, love and joy are skills and lessons that last a life time. Yeah, starting off in happiness and joy brings life long skills that will serve our world well.

Blessings,
