Happy Thanksgiving, I hope it was anyway. You see, I’m writing this on Wednesday before thanksgiving.

Out the kitchen window, in the set back of the house, is a rosebush. Remembering it is mid November, and the weather has been frosty for a few mornings, I was amazed to see the full flower of a pink tea rose.

My kitchen is a mess, beyond the dirty dishes, the wall paper is half done, and the contents of the kitchen drawers are on the dinning room table.

This morning at 6 a.m. I came to a very important realization, I need a new alarm clock. This one keep’s waking me up.

Food is one of those things that is pretty much required to live, yet it is so easy to become addicted to it.

In the spring, I planted 2 tomato plants. After lots of fertilizer and water through out the summer, I ended up with 10 tomatoes.

The Indianapolis Indians is a minor league baseball team, and I got free tickets to a game, and it’s been a while since I’ve had a really bad hot dog, so off Patti and I went.

Carmel, my fur baby cat, spends most of his time laying in the yard napping. Actually, he’s stalking the chipmunks and rabbits, but I like to of him as sweet and altruistic, instead of a wily predator.

I’m using a borrowed computer today, my computer crashed, the mother board is dead!! Which means it is now a paper weight or a very large coaster. When I took it to the IT people, the first question they asked was “Is it backed up.”

My friend and I were comparing funny things our grandchildren say. She won. Her eight-year-old grandson was staying over. He came into her bedroom as she was finishing applying night cream. He said, “Grandma, why are you putting that stuff on your face?”

God calls us to actually think about and make decisions in life based on knowledge, hope and truth.

At the swimming pool there was a young family, the little boy was maybe 2. He wanted to get into the water, but he was at the same time afraid. His dad came over and said, “come on buddy, let's go swimming.”

To be healthy and keep going, we have to come to grips with the mats, tangles and all. We can either give up in our pride, or get rid of the mats: allowing God is heal us, or living in pride.

Defining our value system, to choose what is actually most important, allows us to live in abundance.

Life, like the spray off the water, hits us differently depending if we are on a jet ski or a speed boat – bathing suit or windbreaker, yelling with joy or wiping our glasses.
