Out the kitchen window, in the set back of the house, is a rosebush. Remembering it is mid November, and the weather has been frosty for a few mornings, I was amazed to see the full flower of a pink tea rose. It seems that since the cold weather has hit, it has more than survived, it has flourished. With coffee in hand, I went out to take a look at this brave and bold bloom. The light wind was moving it around a bit, and it looked like it was dancing. Dancing in the 40-degree temperature, dancing in the morning sun, blooming in the joy of life.
I think that in part, that is what this scripture is about, blooming in the joy of life as it comes. Blooming and flourishing knowing that we are blessed with hope and the love of God, no matter what the world throws at us. We are called to live into the blessing and hope that is ours because we are God’s children.
Blessings,
